These are very heavy duty and we did not add any screws to hold them in place. It also adds stability to the entire kennel. Would recommend these to any kennel installation.

Keep the Houdini dogs contained with our optional kennel lid.
Most breeds cannot escape our kennels - but there are a few innovative dogs that have figured out how to jump off other objects in the kennel (like a bed, other dog, etc) and reach the top of the kennel. This lid prevents those types of escapes by sitting on top of the kennel side panels and covering the top of the kennel.
Kennel lids made from quality materials provide more safety
Constructed from the same material as the kennel gate, the kennel top lets light and ventilation through while keeping the dogs contained. The lids are constructed from rugged ½" thick HDPE Plastic or High Density PolyEthelyne, which is a common plastic used on playgrounds and in public restrooms as stall dividers. We chose to use this material because it was designed to be easy to clean - which is essential for a commercial dog kennel! Many other kennel manufacturers try to use welded wire or chainlink - but we found those types of materials just don't last in a commercial kennel setting. Our kennel tops start out from a solid piece of material and we cut the holes into it. This provides a stronger topper without weak welds or connections that the dogs are notorious for finding. We also have a much thicker 'webbing' between the slots to provide even more strength.
